I'M HAVING PROBLEMS FINDING AN HONEST COMPANY TO WORK FOR.
I HAVE APPLIED FOR MYSTERY SHOPPER JOBS ON THE INTERNET, THEY SAY
I'M HIRED ! THREE DAYS I RECEIVE A PACKAGE FROM THE MAILMAN.
I OPEN IT UP THERE'S MONEY ORDERS UP TO $2500. THERE LETTER TOLD ME
TO CASH THE MONEY ORDERS, KEEP $300 AND GO TO WESTERN UNION AND SEND
OUT MONEY TO THE ADDRESSES THEY GAVE ME. THAT DIDN'T SOUND GOOD TO ME.
I WENT TO THE POST OFFICE TO FINE OUT IF THE MONEY ORDERS WHERE ANY GOOD !
THE CLERK TOLD ME THEY WHERE BAD ! HE SAID I WAS SMART NOT TO CASH THE
MONEY ORDERS. THIS HAS HAPPEN TO ME THREE TIMES NOW ! THE POST OFFICE
KNOWS ME . I GIVE THE MONEY ORDERS AND THE LETTERS, THEY MAKE COPY'S FOR ME.
I LIVE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. I'M RETIRED. I LIKE SHOPPING.
I'M INTERESTED TO BE A MYSTERY SHOPPER. I HAVE A LOT OF FREE TIME.
I NEED SOME HELP TO FINE AN HONEST COMPANY.

Start by using the "Search" function on this forum - and READ, READ, READ!

Also - you need to NOT use the dang "Cap locks" - do it and you won't have any of your reports accepted, it's akin to "yelling" online! Punctuation, grammar, spelling, sentence syntax, all of that stuff, good on forums and in your reports.

To find REAL Mystery Shopping Companies (MSC), scroll down to the bottom of this page, look for "Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies" - click there. Beside each company name, you'll see something like this: (13 Discussions) READ the Discussions so you get an idea of each company - how they pay, how tough their reports are, good schedulers and editors, etc.

Part of the problem for new Mystery Shoppers is that they think it's "easy peasy" - hardly. READ, RESEARCH, READ some more. Get set up with a spreadsheet so you can start keeping track of the login's for each MSC, when you pick up jobs, how much they pay, reimbursement, scheduler's email & phone, mileage, etc. There's plenty of discussions on this forum about "getting started".

And finally - never, NEVER cash some check you get in a large amount. It's a scam, and you end up paying for it. NO "legitimate" Shopping Company will send you ANY check before you do a job. And, starting out - you can expect to get $10.00 - $20.00 per job - paid 30, 60, and up to 90 days AFTER you submit and have your report submitted.

Linda - Here are four reputable nationwide companies: Corporate Research, Maritz, Bare, and Market Force. Corporate Research (Cori) will start their jobs off really low and then increase them throughout the month until someone picks them up. You will need to sign up with a lot of companies to get enough work. Some shoppers suggest hundreds. I'm signed up with about 75 but I get enough work. It depends on the companies you choose and how much work they have available in your area.
