Train wreck

It's a complete train wreck, with the gas stations on the "magic app"! What were they thinking? I don't think I will do anymore on the app. It's just way too much unnecessary stress. I did my first one today and it was a horrible experience. That app just has way too many issues as well.

If you were closer I'd be a smart ass and say "more for me." Honestly I have very few issues with Presto. But if you get caught in one of their glitches, it can be very frustrating. Luckily there is an email address that goes to a real person for the new shops on Presto if you run into a problem. I have asked questions about the shops already.
Presto has a notice on their website, and on the app. It says they are doing a server upgrades later this morning and the website will be down. Maybe they are fixing the things everyone is complaining about with the Shell shops? I guess we'll see.

absolutely. I was surprised the first time too..
agreed. i’m avoiding the train wreck. just hoping they’ll be back on the site eventually. looks like e/m was pulled from magic app anyway? haven’t seen any on there and it’s definitely not because they were all taken.

A few e/ms popped up this morning near me.
Okay. I did my first one too and it was a train wreck. The jumpy screen, photos sticking, the screen jumping around to different sections. And the diesel lights still had to be checked. And to top it all off it was raining on my screen making it harder to press.

The worst part is, I could see how super easy it would be for almost anyone to do these shops. They don't even have to catch most of the infractions -- there aren't enough photos for editors to see the mistakes. They have traded quality for quantity.
The app had a message at the top, which had been on there for over a week, they would be working on their servers on Sunday. Sunday was not the day to try to do jobs in the app.
It wasn't just the errors in the app. It was all of the many extra steps you have to take to get everything completed. I don't like it at all. The app kept deleting my pump photos and then the section showed completed, but it wouldn't submit. I had to go through every section just to find what was happening because there were no error messages telling me what was wrong. I had to input most of my pumps 3 times before they stayed in the app, so I can submit it. OMG! Again, what were they thinking? I like the dark audits that were quick and painless. They didn't have all of the many different sections to fill out. I don't want to use that app for EM or the yellow stations. Way too much of a headache. The app is good for certain things, and these gas stations are not one of the certain things.

The server update only lasted a few hours. The problems I had were that the automatic screen scroll was slower than I could input and I would click the wrong thing, sometimes when I took a photo I could to get it to accept and then had to take it with my camera app (not a new issue,) and when I went back to a section and made an entry it would jump me to another section although I was not done with that section. In the future I will do the report at home on my computer. Much more cost effective to do it that way anyhow.
The screen is very sensitive, too. You can be using your finger to scroll down or up and not even realize that you changed one of your answers just by touching the wrong spot on the screen.

Mystery2me: That sounds frustrating.

can you not take the photos on your phone and then input it into the app when you get home? same as with sassie, only sassie was a site.
I did that. And they still wouldn't save. When I took the pictures with the app, they wouldn't save either. I had to upload them 3 times and return each time to upload again.

i did a few today for the first time, and i have to admit, it was pretty smooth, and easy. all i did at the sites was check in on the app, and i did the reports at home. went quicker than on sassie. key is to be on wifi when uploading photos... i tried doing it not on wifi, and it didn't always take properly. i didn't know about the new fueling area section photo though so i had to use a couple duplicates. ugh. hope i don't get rejcted for that.
I am glad it went well for you. I like doing mine onsite so I know everything is complete before I leave the site. I travel, and to go back and get a shot is most of the time almost impossible. So, I make sure it's all done before I go to the next one. I was on Wi-Fi, but that is a great tip.

i usually take all of my photos outside the app and then import them later. i hate waiting for the upload while im on site.
I did the EM and it went very well. The only one I am having issues with is the yellow gas station.

Okay I did some more where I had to submit them onsite to beat the deadline. Everything was mostly fine, except for the lag on the app. Is this just me, or is it slow for everyone? Not talking about uploads, I mean having to wait several seconds before tapping each answer or button.
Myst,

I usually blame my tablet, it's almost 3 years old now.. but it's just as likely that it's a signal thing.

It's not just you!
No, it's not just you. Mine lags as well.

Respectfully, I disagree. The biggest issue I encounter on Presto just doesn't ever go away. You have to be on site to "log in" and then obviously, you have to be on site to enter the form and take the photos. Actually, the shops could be completed after logging in at the site, by driving away and entering later....but that generally creates more work. Anyway, the big issue that I sometimes encounter is connectivity...when connectivity is a problem, for whatever reason, Presto is hugely (Trumpism) difficult to use. Waiting to see that the shop is received sometimes takes quite a few minutes!
A note on Presto "appeals": I just did one the other day which was rejected, and less than 24 hours after the shop was completed. I decided to "appeal" but checked the map first, and saw my shop (which I appealed) already re-posted. They had NO intention of honoring my appeal, and, as suspected, they ignored the appeal! No reply, no feedback, crickets!
I respect your disagreement. It's okay to agree to disagree.

What was the issue that needed appealing? If you don't mind sharing. Just to be sure I don't do the same.

Please everyone let management know about all of the issues. If they aren't aware of all the problems, they won't be able to change it. Maybe if enough shoppers complain about Presto, they will move these back to Sassie. It seems there are way too many shoppers having issues with that app.
They are aware, say there are no problems (for them, I guess) and will change only what benefits them directly. Presto has been fraught with issues since it's inception.

Based on how many shops got done for such low pay last month, they probably are not too concerned.
My son did 4 shops on Presto this evening after I finished my grocery shops. No glitches, no problems. Even the GPS thing didn't screw up.
3 different shops had a problem with the safety vest photo. Something like, "Presto could not extract the photo from the device." That was on the app. After multiple tries, then switching to web mobile then web desktop, finally they went through. About a half an hour of my time was wasted messing with that. No need to wonder if I'll be paid extra for that time. I must have been doing something wrong (sarcasm).
