My mom is persistent that she has never gotten a check from ACL. As far as I can tell, it's the only method of payment they have. Am I missing something? Do they pay via PayPal?

They pay by check with the exception of a few projects that they call QuickPay and those are PayPal. If she hasn't gotten a check, she can reach out and they will happily investigate or issue her a new one. They're really good to work with.
There is a long wait for pay. Payment is by check the 4th Monday of the month following the shop. I did not receive payment and their policy is wait 30 days after the payment date to request a new check. The request is in but now the waiting game begins again.
