Disclose Region Shopped

I have applied to lots of mystery shopping companies to find out after I am accepted they shop on the opposite coast of where I live. Why don't these companies give you an idea of what area they do shops before I waste my time applying.

I hated the aggravation of signing up for a MSC, then finding a blank job board.

I've gone back several times to previously empty boards and found - voila! A filled board with lots of lovely shops, all in my area!

It's like Christmas morning to me.
I agree - I feel the same way however, I signed up with this one company never saw anything in my area and then I was overwhelmed with shops. I don't know how the companies work but you never know. Enjoy. Plus I haven't been doing MS long and have learned a whole lot on this forum.

Gsenerally MSCs do not operate by regions. The clients they have are chains. Therefore if an MC has a retail chain as a client if there is one of these stores in your area they will email or check the job board. I am signed w/ about 110 companies. Even if I only get 1 or 2 shops once in a while from them, it is still a plus for me.
I will tell you that the best shop I ever had through company I was signed up with for three years that did not have anything in my area aside from one shop which I could do via phone. If I hadn't been signed up with that company, I would've missed out on the opportunity to have a fabulous experience.
Can anyone suggest some places to sign up at in Pa?
Many mystery shopping companies shop large parts of the country. The blue link below, Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies, leads to a great list of legitimate mystery shopping companies you can sign up with. If you have not yet signed up with Market Force, you should consider them. They seem to have shops everywhere and they are a good training ground for new shoppers.
I agree, it is rather frustrating having to sign up with all these companies to see what you're going to get. For the companies that use Sassie, I'd recommend doing a search of your area every once in a while to see what's new.
shopgirl86, I shop in Pa. myself. Keep signing up with companies and sooner or later you will find the ones that suit you best.
I am in PA also, and it seems like there are an overabundance of shoppers in my area. Shops never seem to have a chance for the fees to go up.
