I did a shop for them in March. It was a simple shop, easy form, and offered decent pay. Key word there is OFFERED because I still have not received it and they supposedly pay within 60 days. One more thing - All of the shops I have seen in my area are unscheduled, revealed shops which are not my favorite, but thought I would give you a heads up.
I've done quite a bit of work for Maritz and never had any trouble receiving payment from them. I stopped working for them about 6 months ago because I found their surveys were so long and sometimes hard to follow.
I have enjoyed working for them for years...smiling smiley

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
In no way do I mean to portray Maritz as a "bad" company or one not worth pursuing. I believe that all shoppers have great experiences with bad companies as well as bad experiences with some of the most highly regarded companies. My experience is probably the latter of the two.
For some reason, when I first started shopping, about 7 years ago, I was leary of shopping with Maritz. I would not sign up for them and stayed away every time I heard them mentioned. Finally, so some also unknown reason, I decided to give them a try. I have been working steadily for them ever since, about 4 or 5 years. They pay 2x a month, the 15th & EOM for shops completed the month before. I get irratated sometimes and threaten to stop, but it is alsway short lived.
I do a lot of ID compliance shops for them. The same shops are schedued via Maritz and KSS for my region. I've found that they are responsive to bonus requests over the phone directly, but not through KSS. They also reimburse for toll bridges 100% of the time, which most other companies I work with don't like to do.

Their website is a little tedious, and you have to print the form (I use a PDF printer) for a special code before you can do the report. Invoicing is required. Make sure you attach your receipts right the first time through, or you have to mail them. They cannot attach the image after the fact!

The people there are friendly, open later in the evening (good for my West coast shops!) and the shops are simple. I don't do any other shops for them because I'm not fond of bank and revealed shops, which are the majority of the options for my area.

On the downside, they call me so often, that I've memorized the number. They also call too early in the day for me, sometimes not realizing I'm in a different time zone.

I shop for Maritz. This is a reputable company and easy to work with.

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
I've been with them for a little over 16 years now and found them very satisfactory.

I love me some Maritz. That's the company I do the most for.
If you haven't been paid by maritz and it has been that long, call them. They're very easy to get ahold of- or you can click the "contact us" tab and email them with the issue.

I did two shops for them last month and was paid on time.

There is a step to follow after you submit your report - have you made sure that your invoice is submitted? They are a bit different than other companies. Log back in and take a look.

They are the worst besides ACE.
Does any one know if Maritz has jobs in Alberta.

Definitely call or email Maritz. You have to submit an invoice after your shop to get paid and sometimes that gets over looked, by them or the shopper. I do alot of work for them and missed my invoice on 2 shops. It was past 60 days and they went ahead and paid me. The invoice should be there within 14 days to get paid for the shop. They are an old fashion company, phone is best. They usually pay me within 30-45 days. Good luck. smiling smiley
I've done more for Maritz than any other single company. They pay twice a month via check in the mail. Their reports are quick and with little narrative. They are my favorite company so far.

I love this company and been in the bank project that pays every two weeks and I earned money for our vacation. Sometimes, they call me for bonus including toll/parking for some cities at almost end of the month that they need shoppers. The forms are long but easy, yes/no with few comments. You can schedule it again if you want to every 2 months depending on the project. You have to submit the invoice for every shop in order to be paid. You have to group the location and include some other shops to save gas and more money.
Make sure you do not get an EIN. They will issue your check in the name of the company on the EIN and if you do not have a bank account in that name good luck getting it cashed.

I fell into that trap and now they will not let me withdraw the EIN until the end of the year.

I have worked for them for 9 years and I told them I will work for them again next year.
I signed up with them about a month ago, so far I have requested 2 shops with them and both of them were given to another shopper...ARGH
fresnolady, it will be easier after you have completed 10 shops for Maritz. After 10 successful shops, you will be able to self-assign. I suspect that might be the problem now: you are applying for shops, but before the reps have a chance to get back to you and assign the shop to you, someone who can self-schedule is taking it. Once you can self-assign, you will be able to go in and pick and choose. It is much faster and easier. The first 10 shops with Maritz are painful because it is so hard to get assigned to the shops.
I've been shopping for Maritz for over six years and they have been a good, steady company to work with. Sometimes I get irritated with them and decide to quit but then a new list of jobs comes up and I start grabbing shops. I actually prefer the revealed shops so I do a lot of the audits. Their schedulers are great to work with.
Good company but the special ID to log in the report is a bit frustrating. I have a good fix if you haven't printed yet.......... Pull up the report and hit PRINT PREVIEW. The code will be on the preview and you can then enter it without printing the report if you don't want to.
ShopPro I do that myself but now that the secret is out they will probably find a way to block it.
I have been with Maritz for about 4.5 years and I get steady work from them, but I agree with a couple of the other forum members,I get irritated sometimes with their slow site and other problems. I did a job the other day and I had to take a photo from the left side of the property and there was a big truck in the way of the building so I could not get a photo of the building and they would not accept the shop unless I went back and re-took the photo.I don't think it is fair when a situation is beyond your control.I know they have guidelines. I think the next time I just won't do the shop, what's the point if they won't accept it.I'll just have them remove it.
Txguitar...when I did that audit once (station rebranded, so only did it once) there was something in the way of either the left or right photo. I took it as far to the left or right as I could without being blocked...and then took one from all the way left or right that was blocked. I submitted the unblocked shot. When I was told it was not all the way to the side as needed, I submitted the blocked shot as proof I could not comply with the request. Report was accepted.
They told me they would not accept the shop unless I went back and retook the photo!
I went ahead and did it this time, because I am going out of town next week and I just didn't want the hassle, but I intend to follow up with the supervisor on the team and protest, like I said before what is the sense of taking the photos if you know they won't accept the job,the next time I will not go back. I mean for the pay they offer and the price of gas it is just not worth going back, if there is any distance involved. This is the first time this has happened, but I don't normally work with this particular project. I won't be doing them when they come around again.
With them, I truly think it is the editor. One requirement for an audit is to take the pic of the site from across the street. So I did. Then I got a hold on it because it was not the front of the building. Actually it was, but they wanted the side that is facing a grocery store parking lot. How in the H--- was I supposed to know that. After 250 audits, that one. Whatever. I happened to have a shot of a pump and edited it down for the store site shot. Stupid.

But whatever, they keep me busy and I love them anyhow.
I've been shopping for Maritz since May 15th and they have been great to us.
I've been shopping for them for several years now and I do the bank project. They even call for shops that needed to be done before months over. I kind like for I have money for vacation or things for the house. I seldom do the gas station shops. I haven't done the audit shops.

I have EIN but I can bank the check, no problem at all.
