They seem pretty straight forward, and the company is easy to work with. The only downside is the long payment term the company pays on.
@nabilino.... Have you done this shop?
Not this one for two vehicles. I've done the regular oil change one.
Did it, it wasn't bad at all with help. My assistant and I drove to a location near both shops and then took the vehicles one at a time to the two different places with the assistant driving so I would have an easier time getting the street view photo (took it from the vehicle). This made the most sense to me since I needed to be present for both visits and my assistant was getting a free oil change out of it.
@nabilino and @ DEE.... thanks! I have completed the single oil change before, and was wondering if the two car change is more complex regarding the evaluation and observation.

I've done both and they are different but neither is especially difficult. There were more questions on the double since there is a 3rd section comparing the two experiences.
OH, sidenote... The dealership has spammed me ever since that visit. I've blocked multiple phone numbers because you can reply stop and they just switch to another number and keep texting. I may never return for any reason because of it. No irritation from the quick places.
These shops I am talking about are not at dealerships, as in car dealerships.....Jiffy Lube and Grease Monkey and similar quick change establishments....
The shop I did today wasn't a dealership, and it was only one oil change shop, at Pep Boys. I probably should have waited for higher pay, but the pay wasn't bad, and the car was well past it's normal oil change interval. They did NOT reset the oil change reminder, so now I get to finger that out for myself.

Yes, I understand that. I did that scenario AND the dealership one. The dealership one has negative lingering effects, the quick places aren't hassling me.
I have not done an oil change shop in a long time. Is it odd that the dealership I visit offers a synthetic oil change for $25?

Please don't feed the MSF trolls!

Feeding the MSF trolls bread or other human food is detrimental to their health and the environment. It can lead to malnutrition, disease, and behavioral problems in trolls, as well as water pollution and the spread of pests. Trolls are capable of finding their own food sources and don't require human assistance.

$25 or $125? I am presuming there is a typo here?
The dealership I visit does it for $25 smiling smiley I'm amazed when I see these posts and shops.

Ha Ha You are better off...my location (not Pep Boys) put the sticker return at 3,000 miles and 3 months. I had to write over it in black marker. My car states 10,000 miles or one year.
that is likely a bonus and not fee for oil change.

Shopping Eastern Pennsylvania since 2009

Oh, car noobs...

The owners manual in the US says 10,000 miles because of Obama era EPA fuel economy regulations. This is not political, it's fact based. Don't believe me? Investigate for yourself.

3k or 5k miles is better for engine longevity. Check out the motor oil geek on YouTube. You'll find out that your car manufacturer has different oil requirements in the US vs other parts of the world due to US regulations.

But what do I know? My 24 yr old truck only has 352k miles on it. I'd never let it go to 10k miles between oil changes. Never!
I would definitely do these again with the cost of oil changes. Unfortunately the locations available near me are a bit out of my way and I have a busy weekend ahead.

Yesterday, I was talking about the costs with my mom so I reviewed the costs for oil changes that I did as shops.

In 2022, I took my husband's jeep to a jeep dealership - used regular oil and it was $56. I think I had a coupon for this one.

The shops I did in Dec 2023 at two of the oil change places, the reimbursement for both was $220. I believe I got a synthetic blend but can't recall 100%. I'm sure I have the images of the receipts but don't feel like digging through my images for specifics.
It depends on how and where you do it but if you go to dealership for oil change it's always most expensive. Outside "quick oil change shops" like the one that is being shop should be around 50-80 bucks.

I used to go to some Chinese auto shop where I bring my own oil for oil change they charge you 20 bucks for labor and 10-15 for the filter (Depending on your brand and make).

You can probably get 5 qt of Mobil 1 for like 20-25 bucks if you check slickdeals regularly. Which is also around 50 bucks give or take.

Personally I would definitely welcome these type of ss if they do covered the cost and on top of that you are earning money for the report.

So for I am seeing 3 kinds of oil change shops. One is by the MSC that also do deli meat and its USA brand dealership...that one has branding restrictions and you will most likely need to wait til end of month for some pay. Another one also by the same MSC that requires you to visit 2 quick oil change location for decent pay. I just pick one up and will try that and see how that goes. You are required to have 2 different vehicles but it shouldn't be too hard to find 2 cars imo. Last one is pretty new and its but the good old MSC that also does Chinese fast food. I may give that one a try but not until I finished the other one first.

I had a place that didn't do it, luckily some nice person created a YouTube video and I was able to do it myself.
20 years ago I knew how, but not anymore. These new CAN systems with the new computers are newer than what I knew when I was working on cars for a living. When I was forced to retire CAN systems were in their infancy, and I was working in a fleet garage where things change at a snail's pace. Honestly, I didn't even think about looking for it on you tube.
