Newbie Signing In!

Hey, and Hello from upstate NY! I consider myself new, even though I am returning after a sabbatical of three years. So much has changed! What should I know? Where should I start looking?
I have a corporate background, spent the last two and a half years on the road as a regional sales manager for a marble company. I also played around as a project manager for a digital marketing company, and have a traveling hobby. I love to write, shop, research, and relax in new places around the globe. I live in one of the coldest regions, love the change of weather, but love the warmth more. You will often find me on a beach somewhere when given the chance.

Welcome back! I hope you are staying warm. Some things have changed, like the flood of new shopping/auditing apps out now, but the basics haven't changed much in the last few years.

Anything specific you want to know?
Welcome! Start in the New Member section... There is a ton of information there that will help get you started in this. As you get going, ask questions. That's what this place is for. There is a lot of knowledge and experience on this board.

Thanks guys! Yes, what are the best apps to use have you found? And what are you using to route your days?
Best apps? Are you talking about MSC apps? I personally don't use any MSC apps. I have an audio recorder, GeoVerify and that's about it. I track all my shops on a spreadsheet and create my routes by hand.

If you mean MSing apps, the GeoVerify and Mystery Shop Watch are essential. Some MSCs have apps they use for data input, but they will let you know about these when you sign up.

If you mean crowdsourcing/auditing apps, I only use those for route fillers or quick cash. They pay much, much less and are considered not to be true audits or MSing. I personally use Field Agent and Mobee, and sometimes Survey dot com. I have actually gotten two merchandising assignments from Survey that paid $120/day as a third-party contractor, for a week, but these are rare.
