Get an Olymic digital recorder at Radio Shack. Take written notes until you practice with the recorder. People "talk to themselves" all the time on phone so you talking to a voice recorder does not seem like you are taking notes. Radio shack is shopped, do not tell them you are a mystery shopper. Start with the date and time and remember to put the recorder on "lock" to make ssure you do not accidently shut the recorder off IN THE CAR.

Make sure associates are not near and do not talk in the restroom to the recorder.sound travels through the ceiling and walls and employees may be in the next stall.
