Secret Shopper looking to kickstart a new Evaluation Company

Newbie here, looking for insight/shared-experiences in the realm of secret shopping. I have been conducting high-end shops (hotels, casinos, restaurants, etc) for 10 years and I'm interested in establishing my own company. Would love any/all information you all would be kind enough to share with me. I am still currently conducting shops in the Southern California area, and I'm always looking for new companies that have high-end shops. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have regarding what type of projects I have completed and also what companies I have worked for. I am excited to be a part of this forum and look forward to meeting fellow-shoppers.

For a minute ther I thought you were starting a compsny to evaluate Schedulers or Editors. Now that would be an endeavor...sort of like eBay feedback!
Check your ICAs. Several companies have non-compete clauses, some for two years after you stop shopping for them.
Hello Madison and welcome to the forum. Too bad we weren't able to share shopping experiences over the past ten years. But hey, we can start now. Please let us know what's going on with you from here forward.

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
I wish we as shoppers had the capability of evaluating schedulers and editors... Everyone needs to be regulated to some degree!!!
MrEToomey,
I'm curious about these non-compete clauses. I'd be interested in how one can enforce such a contract, as non-competing clauses in the eyes of the law are usually construed as overbroad and unconscionable.. But thank you, I will certainly be looking into my contracts with my employers.

Are you actually a mystery shopper? If yes, you do not have an employer. You are an independent contractor.
Sybil2,
I lust looked into that and completely agree. In CA, secret shoppers are deemed as "Independent contractors," not employees. Thus, we would not be subject to non-compete clauses. Thank you for your insight!! Anyone know of any good shopping companies that conduct high-end hotel, restaurant, and spa shops? I'm always looking for new, exciting jobs.. Thanks for your support!!
