I would like to introduce myself

Hi,

I have been reading some posts on this forum for a little while. I am somewhat new to Mystery Shopping. I only did the pizza shops (only with 1 company) when I was in school. Now I have branched out and I have signed up with several Mystery Shopping Companies and have found this forum quite useful. I was going to sign up with Freeman but I stumbled onto this site before I made that mistake. So thank you for all who post and share.

I do have one question though...

I have read that some people are signed up with over 100 compaines. Now I am signed up with about 23. How do you find the time log into every companies' website to check for new jobs? Going to every MSC site (several times a day) and signing in and looking for postings is taking me a lot of time. I don't mind doing the groundwork for good results I just wonder if I am going about it the wrong way. I am on the e-mail list for everyone I am signed up with as well and so I check my e-mail often. Is there an easier way? Or do you just have to do thousands of shops and then the editors just e-mail you jobs because they know who you are and what quality reports you give?

Either way I love Mystery Shopping and I plan on doing this for many years to come. Thank you in advance for the response.

Congrats on your first post and I just have to ask, what are you going to do about your handle now that Hostess is out of business?grinning smiley

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I logged in to virtually every website, every single day. That was before hitting the 100 plus mark, but it was still tedious. After a while I got the hang of who had what, how often they posted and if it was better to just wait for that particular company to e-mail me or to utilize the job boards. Jobslinger tends to be out of date, but I have found MSJobBoard.com to be more current and easy to use. There are quite a few companies joined together there so it is one stop shopping. For me there are also some companies that never post jobs paying enough to make looking worthwhile. They even have their own special folder in my favorites because I never take anything from them unless they call and/or e-mail with a bonus.

I don't know there is a one-size-fits-all solution, but there are shoppers who use various methods and no doubt others will be along to give you some more ideas.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
Thank you LisaSTL for the insight and welcome. As far as Hostess being out of business perhaps I should put my handle on ebay and auction it for millions of dollars. It might last as long as the remaining Twinkies. lol.
Welcome to the forum wonderbread12.

After getting through the learning curve of who shops whom in my area, who has shops I want, and when they post, I streamlined. I use Firefox, and have separated my MSPs into MSing bookmarks A, B, C, D and E. A contains my bread and butter MSPs; B has worthwhile route-fillers; C has goodies that are reimbursement only or small fee and reimbursement, like fine and casual dining shops; D has either nothing I'm interested in, or nothing where I live, and E contains no way jose MSPs. I can quickly open all tabs in a bookmark and pounce when the time is right.

Keep track of timings. Generally, by the time you get an email, the plums will be gone. Also clients and MSPs play musical chairs, when contracts end and start anew. It's easy enough to change them from B to A, or whatever.
Thanks Mert
I only recently downloaded Firefox because I can only view one particular MSC website with that browser. I did not really know much about the bookmark function. I will do that right away. smiling smiley
