Newbie in the House

Hi all, I'm new to the mystery shopping community. I was always interested but had a hard time find valid info on the web. Looks like I struck gold finding this forum. I've been wanting to find some type of part time work, but I work a funky shift at my job, right smack in the middle of the day. Glad to be here.

I'm still learning 24/7.
Hello- I am new to dong mystery shops and this forum looks like an excellent place to pick up some tips.
I found ya'all by googling Sentry bcse they contacted me to sign up with them and the latest form they want me to fill in is demanding my SS#. I am not really comfortable providing that to just anyone. The one other company I have dealt with so far did not require it.

Looking for ward to the journey!
Hi, mesha, welcome to the forum. It is pretty much standard to provide your SS# to a mystery shopping company but NOT in an e-mail. Apply only on a mystery shopping company's website. The blue link at the bottom of the page, Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies, is a great list of legitimate mystery shopping companies to sign up with. Be prepared to go to the website of each one, fill out an application, provide your SS# and personal information, and sign a confidentiality agreement. Some may want you to take tests or submit a writing sample. After you are accepted as a shopper, you will be able to view their job boards. Best of luck!
Mesha,
I'd like to second what AustinMom said. You should expect to have to input your Social Security number on the applications used by MS companies (MSCs). TThey do need that for record keeping and IRS reporting. But sending it in an email is not usual.

If you want to have a nice selection of jobs and fees, plan on signing up with a few companies per week until you have at least 100 companies.
